Cutting Edge
Cutting Edge was set up in 2001 to promote surgery as a career within the
University and the Medical School. It is affiliated with the Royal College
of Surgeons and has a membership approaching 250. The society aims to
achieve its goals by promoting RCS and WIST events, organising talks from
surgeons in all stages of their career - both about particular surgical
specialties, and about surgical training in general and by organising
clinical skills workshops.

motivated healthcare students active in curriculum issues, community
projects, international exchanges, campaigns and conferences. Medsin-UK is
also the UK member of the International Federation of Medical Students'

St Johns Ambulance (LMSU)
LMSU trains medical students to a very high standard, so that they can go
out on duty and provide first aid care to the general public. Our training
complements the medical school training, and has something for everyone, no

Widening Access to Medical School (WAMS)
This site was designed to help people through the daunting process of
medical admissions. Getting into medical school is not an easy task and
(quite rightly) demands a lot of motivation and dedication and a great deal
of specialist knowledge is required. Students at Leeds University's School
of Medicine realised that there was no one website which dealt with all of
those burning questions that you have, so they created one!
